It's One of the Most Amazing Gifts Ever Given
I have something I need to confess today.
I absolutely love to eat!
In fact, it’s part of our family tree—to love good food, love eating, and talk about eating. We are food people. Foodies.
Furthermore, we love to eat at great restaurants.
Just last week we ate a fabulous steak place in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s call Le Moo, and they serve an incredible meal and spoil you rotten while doing it. It is now one of my favorite restaurants of all time.
I can’t wait to be back in the area so we can eat there again.
It’s one of the greatest gifts ever given.
In fact, imagine if the next time I go to Le Moo to eat dinner, the owner of the restaurant were to come up to our table.
Imagine if he were to make the most incredible offer,
“Melanie, we want to offer you the chance to eat here anytime you want at no cost. Today’s bill is paid, and any future meals you have here will be absolutely free. You can come as often as you like, and we will comp your food.
Also, you can give us that bill from the last time you were here, and we will take care of that as well. Everything you ever order here will be on the house—completely free of cost. Every bill will be paid in full by us.”
If something like this were to happen, of course I would be thrilled. How amazing to receive such an offer! I would love it.
However, I’ve honestly gotten an even better offer.
It’s not a free food offer, but something much sweeter.
It’s the offer that changed Martin Luther’s life and brought about the start of the Protestant Reformation. (Grudem, page 722)
It’s also what has made all the difference in my own life.
